Higher Institute of Engineering

The Higher Institute of Engineering was established in 1995 by the ministerial decree issued by the Ministry of Higher Education No. 1712 on 22/11/1995. At that time, the institute was located in 10th of Ramadan City and offered five academic programs (Telecommunications Engineering – Biomedical Engineering – Chemical Engineering – Electrical Power & Machines Engineering – Architectural Engineering).

The Higher Institute of Engineering moved to its new campus in Al-Nakhil district, Shorouk City at the beginning of the second semester of the 1999/2000 academic year, after the Ministry of Higher Education approved the relocation by ministerial decree No. 712 on 31/5/2000.

The institute administration established the Civil Engineering Department by ministerial decree No. 1437 on 10/9/2000, and studies began in the academic year 2000/2001, bringing the total number of academic departments at the institute to six, in addition to the Mathematics and Engineering Physics Department.

The institute administration developed the curriculum for various programs, including a new branch in Chemical Engineering for Petroleum Manufacturing "Petrochemicals". The curriculum was approved by ministerial decree (2381) on 4/7/2019 and was implemented in the 2019/2020 academic year.

International Higher Institute of Media

The International Higher Institute of Media was established by Ministerial Decree No. 1216 on 9/6/2009, and it originally included the following departments:

• News Production Department
• Media Production Department
• Media Marketing Department

The curriculum was amended by Ministerial Decree No. 966 on 19/3/2018, and it now includes the following three departments:

• Journalism Department
• Radio and Television Department
• Public Relations and Advertising Department

All departments are accredited by the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education

and recognized by the Supreme Council of Egyptian Universities (allowing the same rights and privileges granted by Egyptian public universities, such as registration in professional syndicates and postgraduate studies).

The duration of study is 4 academic years in all departments to obtain a Bachelor's degree.

Enrollment in the department begins in the third year, and all departments are taught in Arabic.
